Periwinkle, or Vinca is a hearty and beautiful flower that is perfect for Coastal Alabama even with our heat and humidity.  Vinca has great colors:  Pink, Red, White, Dark Red and many have contrasting centers.  Vinca has a sister plant that is a trailer and ideal for Garden cover and/or hanging baskets.  Other pluses with Vinca is:  there is no need to deadhead, they also do very well in partial shade and Butterflies and Hummingbirds are attracted to their nectar.  Vinca plants have become more popular over the past 2 years and this may be your year to try them out.  Our final picture today features an outdoor arrangement with Vinca.    We think they look great with the Zinnias.  Like what you see?  Please join us on Facebook for more great colorful plants, pollinator flowers and arrangements.
